1. Lakshmi Puja Vidhi & Purpose
Lakshmi puja is very popularly done during Kojagori Laxmi puja and Diwali. Kojagori Laxmi puja is popular in Bengali community where Diwali is the festival of lights and prosperity and it has been considered highly appropriate to do Lakshmi puja since times immemorial so that the blessings of Lakshmi shower the household with abundance of wealth and happiness. Doing Lakshmi puja is very simple and can be performed by anyone since Lakshmi is easily pleased.
Shidhi, Pancha Sassa, Chandan, some raw rice (Dhan), Mustard oil, Ganga's soil and water or fresh water, Koris, Fruits, Shankha, Chand mala , Laxmi ghat, Sindoor, Flower garlands and loose flowers and lotus flower for puja, Incense sticks (Dhups), scent, a picture of Goddess Lakshmi or idol , a red colour cloth, chawki, pan leaves and betel nut, earthen lampss, some currency notes, silver coin, sweets and dishes(Vogs) e.t.c.
On the day of the puja, clean the home. Wipe the entrance door panels and frames and also all the doors in the house and decorate them with tilaks of turmeric paste, give alpana, Gather the puja items in one place. In the place of puja, place the chawki and spread red cloth on it. Place the picture or idol of Goddess Lakshmi. In front of the idol of Lakshmi, make three heaps of raw rice. These heaps represent Vishnu, Kuber and Indra (optional) and do the puja as shown in video. Laxmi puja vidhi Video
The main lamp for the puja should be chosen in such a way that it can hold enough oil to stay lit all over the night. Light the lamp and also the incense sticks. Start the puja with Ganesh Puja with prayers to remove the obstacles(if one really want). Mark Tilak on the forehead of Ganesh and ghat. Offer the scent, flowers, sweets, dhoop, earthen lamp and dishes to Ganesha. Wave camphor in front of the idol and do Namskar.
Then start Lakshmi puja. To begin with, place a tilak of ghat as shown in the forehead of Lakshmi idol. From you heart, pray Goddess Lakshmi and Vishnu to visit your home and grace the puja.
If you do not know any Lakshmi mantras,
just chant this mantra hundred and eight times.

or
Puspanjali mantra :
Om namaste sarba debanang baradasi haripriye
Ja gati stang prapannanang sa may vuya tochonat
Offer the scent, flowers, sweets, dhoop, earthen lamp and dishes to Lakshmi .
Also, offer silver coin, currency notes, pan leaves and betel nuts to Lakshmi.
